Recently, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 Brosville Elementary School third, fourth, and fifth grade students participated in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The students were given words to spell from materials prepared by the Scripps National Spelling Bee program. Students displayed knowledge learned throughout their school experience while competing for top honors. Isabelle Diaz de Leon, a fifth grader, claimed first place and Abram Bryan, a fourth grader, was the second place winner. The following students also earned their way into the final round of the school spelling bee: Chance Christian, Victoria Wade, Arilyn Raymond, Timia Prunty, Jurnee Wilson, Whitney Nelson, Angelica Quintero, Nahla Atkins, and Colton Johnson. Isabelle and Abram will participate in the Danville Area Spelling Bee, which will be held at Averett University on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
