Brosville Elementary School is reading Cleo Edison Oliver, Playground Millionaire! Students are taking the month of March to read through the book with their parents and teachers. The book was chosen by the Virginia Council on Economic Education to highlight family and financial literacy. Throughout the month, students have read with their parents as they enjoy special celebrations at school including guest readers, spirit days, and a special treat in the cafeteria. The kickoff on March 1 included a reading of the first chapter by Washington Redskins players Chase Roullier and Tyler Catalina. Students have practiced their reading skills with the book and they have had lessons on the economic themes that relate to the story. It has been a huge celebration of literacy and community!
