Now is a great time for students to eat school breakfast and lunch in Pittsylvania County. School breakfast and lunch meals meet the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrition standards and reflect the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Both meals aim to provide students a healthful balance of foods.

To ensure that all students have the opportunity for something to eat before school starts, breakfast is offered every day at school and most schools offer a Grab ‘n Go option.
With Grab ‘n Go, students simply pick up their breakfast meal from the cafeteria and can take it with them to their homerooms to eat unhurriedly while unpacking and getting settled for the start of the day. Students like the convenience of Grab ‘n Go and enjoy being able to eat in their classroom with their friends.

Eating a healthy lunch ensures that students get the proper nutrition they need throughout the day to concentrate and learn. All school cafeterias offer a variety of fruits, and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat milk, and a selection of protein-rich entrees with every lunch. School lunches also provide sensible limits on calories, saturated fat, and sodium. Additionally, all Pittsylvania School cafeterias still prepare homemade items such as soups, school rolls, chili, vegetables, and desserts and serve only preservative-free deli meats, hot dogs and premium, all-breast chicken nuggets, and filets which students prefer.

We look forward to serving the students again this year.
